Stars pay tribute to stupid Steely Dan cofounder Walter Becker

The leisure world is mourning the loss of Walter Becker, the Steely Dan guitarist, bassist, and cofounder who died Sunday at age Sixty seven.

Becker’s longtime musical collaborator Donald Fagen stated in a prolonged and heartfelt commentary, “Walter Becker used to be my friend, my writing partner and my bandmate since we met as students at Bard College in 1967. … He used to be clear as a whip, an fabulous guitarist and a huge songwriter. He used to be cynical about human nature, including his indulge in, and hysterically humorous.”

Fagen added, “I intend to contain up the song we created collectively alive as long as I will with the Steely Dan band.”

As info of Becker’s demise spread, singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb tweeted that he used to be “a correct inspiration,” and John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats stated, “Steely Dan changed the scheme I notice song forever.”

Fellow musicians weren’t the one ones providing reward: Sci-fi writer William Gibson declared Becker “one in every of my current writers ever,” and actor Michael Chiklis called Becker and Fagen “two of the ideal song writers of our time.”
