Following the records that Thirteen Causes Why creator used to be expelled from the Society of Adolescents’s E book Writers and Illustrators for violating its harassment code, a Netflix spokesperson launched the following commentary to EW regarding the upcoming second season of Thirteen Causes Why: “Jay Asher used to be no longer all in favour of the second season of 1Three Causes Why. The upcoming season is potentially no longer impacted in any manner.”
On Sunday evening, Lin Oliver, government director of SCBWI, spoke back to nameless feedback about Asher pronouncing that he and one other creator had “been expelled from the SCBWI” and had been “no longer welcome as participants, school or speakers … There’s a nil tolerance protection for harassment, there is a preponderance [of] extremely efficient and revered females on our board, on our workers, and in our membership.” Oliver later counseled Buzzfeed of Asher, “After we investigated, we felt that terminating his membership used to be the precise course of action. We bear persistently been in actuality sensitive to sexual harassment concerns and bear a nil tolerance protection, but clearly our policies haven’t prevented violations, so we’re taking this opportunity to pick out one other stare upon our guidelines.”
